Eyes Opened.......another poem for you....

I took this pic this afternoon, this stream is usually no more than a trickle but we've had so much rain the last few days so it was overflowing. This was shot in RAW and edited in PS 10 and I also tweaked a couple things in Corel and then Picnik. I know I shouldn't edit pics on my laptop but I did it anyway...... I wrote this poem back in February, I hope you like it.....

Eyes Opened.....

As a child, I saw so little....
of beauty or kindness around me,
Fear kept the mask in place
and blocked out all Light.

Defiance was my strength
or it seems I believed,
One dared not approach.....
efforts to reach, could not break through.

Till screams turned to whispers...
Anger, washed away by tears,
I'm finally aware now....
of just how much I've grown.

I must not return....
for I have been set free,
When in doubt... I shall look up,
Trusting I'll be shown.....

I love this shot! It might be a little dark but that just sets the mood in this one. :cheer:

Would you mind sharing your set up? What kind of filters, aperture and shutter sped did you use?
I still have a lot to learn and would appreciate your input.

I want a good wide angle lens and more money for photo trips.

I like the idea here, the composition is good and the water is lovely. I'd maybe look at supporting the red flower (a knitting needle and a garden tie would work) so it stayed sharp whilst you used that slow shutter speed. That would add to the foreground interest.

Thank you all so much ! Dana, here are the settings I used : Aperture-F20, Shutter Speed-1/1 sec, ISO 125, Exposure -.33. I used a color & enhansing filter (I just got them a couple weeks ago so I wanted to see what kind of effect it would have on this). I kinda like it! :)
Mark, the red in this shot is either red leaves which were attached to branches blowing in the wind or they were falling. But Honestly, there was no way to reach them to hold them still. :)

Might want to bump up to the f/11 and invest in an ND. You can see diffraction.

Thanks Scotty, I have an ND for this lens as well-I've been experimenting to see what the different filters can do. But I'll keep it in mind.

The poetry and lovely picture is almost as beautiful as you are.

I'm colour blind, but it doesn't keep me from exploring the wonderfully colourful world around us. :)
