Coming storm

12 years 4 months ago #175331 by J Hud

I was able to quickly snap this photo last weekend after the fog (which covered the valley) lifted enough to let the sunset in. I did a little post adjustment in Lightroom (enhanced and sharpened). This was shot with a D7000 and a Nikon 18-200mm lense at 70 mm. Would like to know what everyone thinks about this photo.

This certainly shows the fog and mood, but no wall hanger.

A trip into curves or a bit of dodging and burning is needed to give this a lift, but I almost like it.

I kinda like it but it does look a little washed out.

Thanks for the advice all. That is what I wanted to know, especially regarding the dodging and burning. May give that a try and see what results I can get.

Great looking photo with alot of potential. The shrubs/trees at the bottom middle right is kind of distracting. Would love to see this without the fog and maybe crop out the bottom trees.

Glass half full, that washed out look also give it style. My issue is the brush in the foreground, really clashes with that mood. I would have moved the camera position to the left to give an unobstructed view of the river. Or raise it so the brush drops off the bottom.
