...in a Kodachrome sort of way. Thoughts encouraged.

For me the highlights on the water are a bit much. I would be tempted to re-shoot with different weather or at a different time of the day.

Really beautiful color in this. I might tone the saturation down a little bit and nix the vignette, but it really does have that kodachrome feel to it

To my eye, I would have liked the background trees either sharper or blurrier.  With all due respect to Weegee, maybe f/2.8/4 or f/16.  I like the colors, but my eyes flip back and forth between the reds and oranges of the trees and the bright water and rocks. (At least on my monitor.) Maybe a slight darkening of the lighter water and rocks would tame my eyes. (I do appreciate the reference to Weegee. :) )

PS- Is this f/8?

There are photographs everywhere. It is the call of photographers to see and capture those images.

Good location, but I don't like the water and especially the color of the water at all.

I also don't like the water, but the shot is good overall.

Nice fall foliage, wish we had some similar area to shoot here in SoCal. I like it but would had done a slight crop, taking the focus away from the nearby out of focus rocks. I would probably take off a little red from the curves also

Interesting that this cropped up after over a month. I'll take any reaction over no reaction any day of the week. So thanks for that.

Yes, it was f/8, 1/320 @ ISO 320, 135mm. f/8 at that focal length isn't the
same as f/8 at 35mm. Which makes the statement kind of silly, don't you
think?

The water, once the sun came up, became very choppy from the sudden breeze. It was what it was, and I decided to embrace it. I
have plenty of other shots with long exposures.

Here's another edit, with a more mundane treatment of the color. Tried some general
control of the tones to focus on what was, for me, the subject.

I like the original. I liked the vivid blue with the warm leaves in the background. Sure, there are a few unwanted highlights, however, what you managed to capture is still a great photo.

Nice!

I wonder what a polarizer would have done?

Stay sharp,
Bob
