HUGE Sunset Colors
These are what are known as gantry cranes. Im sure you've seen them plenty of times if you live near a major port. They move containerized cargo on and off ships. When they're not in use, the huge arms are lifted vertically in order to keep the shipping channels free of obstructions to passing vessel traffic that might wander underneath them. These particular cranes were a common subject this past hitch since we sat almost exclusively in Long Beach.
