Starting off, when I see a photo of something historic like this, you can't help wonder, "if those stones could talk, if they could talk of the people that have walked under team".  So cool. 

Moving forward I really enjoy the detail and colors that you have captured here.  Thanks for sharing this.

I didn't see a halo, but there was some fringing I hadn't noticed

I really can't see the original photo so I can't compare but what I can say, this shot is filled with texture. The strong uneven surfaces creates so much character in the shot.
