Super crowded and super cold! I've been here a few times with some success but I feel like this was by far my best visit. I bagged the classic shots and tried to focus in more on the distant details, particularly these rock spires.

Wow, just wow ...

What a great place and great timing. The top is so dramatic that maybe you can slightly work the middle and bottom, (add a bit more punch), in order to compete against the super dramatic top. Another look is to crop out the blacker/darker areas of the red top ... that would better allow the middle to compete for the viewer's eye. Man, I love this shot.  Thank you for sharing.

This is really good. I am fine with the dark areas. It adds depth to the shot.

The strange thing is that on my monitor, everything seems balanced, especially when viewed agaisnt a neutral gray background in Lightroom. Seems like my images look different everywhere I post them.

Mmmmhhh ... well internet sites always "process" the images to make them visible, some site process more and some process less ... so yeah, wherever you post your images may look a bit different than in LR.  To better define my comments, the middle of your shot is very muted (distance and dust) the bottom and top are well defined ... but to my eye the red ... that wonderful red just blows away the middle and bottom in competing for the viewer's eye.  I'm suggesting punching up the middle and bottom a bit and reducing the top a bit ... but this is just how I see the world.  We're all different and we all see and shoot differently.

There's is indeed a strong color of red on the top part. It steals your eyes away.
