The Light Through the Trees...

The sun was setting, and the light, filtered through the leaves, caught my attention.

The orange colors in trees can look so vibrant in the right light.  You have captured that here.

What are those white lines in the background lower left?

The variation of tones in colors because of the light is really impressive.

Sorry. I don't get this one. I'm sure it was pretty in person, but for a photographic image it falls way short for me. What is the subject? The color? The light? It's an image a lot of people take because they think the color is "purdy". As you often say, "IMHO".

Exactly: the light. And it was an attempt to demonstrate that there are somethings that are really difficult to capture. IMHO.

That said, the point was to see if I could create an image that would evoke in the viewer what I felt when I saw this scene. Or, more simply, to feel something. That is, for me, the most difficult thing about photography. And given that I don't respond to plenty of images, I fully appreciate that it's a lofty goal.

Yes, it was pretty. But the light made me feel for a moment, and that's something that can't be captured.

Then again, it's art. Not meant to be literal. And not necessarily successful.
