Image is way too blue. Set WB by picking the gray rock if you want the image to look like reality. The bottom of the image doesn't add anything. A square crop removing the bottom works better. All this is just my opinion. It doesn't mean it's the right or wrong way. Just how I see it.

Thanks for input. Is it possible to set white balance this way in post editing? (Lightroom)

I agree with the person that made the comment before me. The frame is way too blue. The answer to your question is yes you can adjust white balance in any file (better that the file is in RAW mode) using levels and choosing the middle from the three droppers. Select it and then choose a point of your frame that best represents gray ... You will see that the white balance will automatically adjust to a higher kelvin scale mode ... Also, if I may an additional comment don't take vertical frames, prefer the horizontal ones ...

Absolutely. Use the eye dropper in the WB area. I downloaded the image and corrected it in PS using the "Camera RAW Filter". Picked the rock in a couple of places with the "eye dropper" and chose the one most pleasing.

I have to disagree with your last comment. The scene determines whether to use landscape or portrait framing. Going in with a preconceived determination is a mistake in my opinion.

The frame is adequate but the PP is not so tasteful IMO!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Thanks for replies!

I think the reason I over processed this one is because I am rather new to this and the weather has been really depressing for well over two months now so I guess part of me wanted to escape to fantasy world, haha.

The reason why I chose portrait is because there are trash bins and other things just outside the frame, and as I wanted the tree to frame it on the right I had not much choice.

The link was very helpful. This is my second try:

Archidas ,

Don't know if  it's just me ,  or the image appears to be noticeably unsharp ,  either bad focus, or camera shake , or severe  .jpg compression artefacts ,  or  just your imaginative artistry ?

By the way ,  is  this forest  be near Gällivare ,  by any chance ?

No you are right, this is indeed blurry. Much sharper in RAW, think it is because I compressed it into small JPEG, seems to be quite a file size limit on the forum.

It is actually taken in Stockholm.. But would like to go up north some day, never been actually. Have you been to Sweden?
