The Haunted Chapel

3 years 3 weeks ago #712924 by Esseff
The area around this chapel is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman searching for her lost children... and it doesn't help that the chapel has a Stoker-esque vibe to it. It was a sunny and bright day but this place is very out-of-the-way so there is no-one else around for miles. The hike through the surrounding forest was creepy af.

Yes, I can imagine church being light painted at night.
Is it locked, Esseff?
I wonder who is in charge of it.

Thanks guys.

I wouldn't venture here at night, at least not alone. The chapel and the cemetary are in this valley all alone. About 1km south is a war cemetary and 2km north is an old monastery. The surrounding forest isn't one those happy, have-a-picnic types of forests either. I explored the ruins of an old church dating back to the 1100's in the forest; it was not a pleasant trip. The chapel is owned/maintained by the Malinckrodts, a German noble family. The graves at the chapel of the Malinckrodts dating back to the mid 1700's.

I'd say it was well worth the hike.  These make great subjects..... ghosts or not.  Looks like hobbits could live here.
