the horizon looks straight to me based off of the vertical wind turbine.  i figured it was on a hill sloping to the right. 

i'm not too sure about the crop, there's a lot of sky that doesn't really add anything to the image.  to me, the area of interest is the bottom half where the fields and trees are.  the top third could be cropped out.  it looks like a beautiful area, lots of farmland to explore.

It's a slope. The windmill is the vertical reference.

I like sky so typically I try to get a good amount of it in. Also in the foreground was a messy hedgerow of brambles and the like and that didn't quite fit with the rest of the scene. But yeah, next time I'll try to to crop with less sky.

i generally like a lot of sky as well, however in this one the sky has less contrast and isn't as interesting as the foreground.  in another photo at this location, perhaps one taken at different time of day or under different conditions, you might find that this comp/crop works well.

Cheers. I know the sky isn't the most exciting. I just like skies. But good point.
