Which is best to worst aftermarket lens? Sigma, Tokina or Tamron?

I've only compared my Canon 50 1.4 to a friend's Sigma 50 1.4, so not a wide sampling. I would agree that in some ways it's a better lens than the Canon. His is sharper than mine at f/1.4, and the Canon does have zoom-like bokeh (ringed edge and double edge effects). I like the results, but I can't get over the size. For me smallness is one of the aspects of prime lenses that I like the most. When he first got the Sigma I thought my buddy had a new f/2.8 zoom.
