Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary Canon fit

Has anyone experience of the Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary lens? I am thinking of buying one as it seems to be an excellent choice for bird photography which I want to get into to complement my bed watching hobby, but I also would like to use it for photographing high up detail of and in buildings such as cathedrals and churches.

I would also like to buy a used one if the price is right but it must be the Contemporary version as the Sport version is too heavy for me.

Excellent lens, a good friend of mine has that lens.  It's a great lens!

I have had one for about a year for wildlife shots. It has been amazing. Despite the weight, I have been able to get great 3-shots HDR shots of the moon handheld.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

It weighs 4 lbs vs. 6 for the Sport. You're going to want a tripod or monopod after holding it for a while.

I just tried a friend's Tamron 150-600 and it's a beast. Big, difficult to manuever. I would never hold something like that for very long. (And this from someone that walks around with a 70-200 + body in one hand.)

I wasn't impressed with the Tamron, but I didn't get much time with it.
