Lens Mount / Lens Mount Adapters - I'm confused! Help!

Hi everyone!

I'm actually on the search for a Lens Mount Adapter for my Panasonic Lumix GX85.
I live in Argentina and here it's pretty expensive to buy lenses, and Panasonic lenses aren't that common around here.

I want to buy a Lens Mount Adapter but I'm kind of confused.

I would like to buy some vintage lenses, but still have the possibility to use newer ones too.
I'm not getting a digital adapter, just the ring, so for the moment I won't be looking for the digital advantages of new lenses.

I'm between chosing a M42 adapter or a Nikon AI.

My question here is, if I get a Nikon AI adapter, would I be able to use ANY Nikon lens?
Because some vendors don't specify the AI part, they just label their product as Nikon.

And my question with the M42 adapter is: Which brand of lenses would I be able to use if I get it?
Because I see some lenses that are M42 mount, but they say Canon too.
So, If I get a Canon Lens Mount Adapter would I be able to use M42 lenses too?

Sorry about the mix up, just want to get it right before I spend money.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like those listings that say Canon have an adapter for Canon to M42 included in the listing. M42 and Nikon adapters to micro 4/3rds are going more available. I use any number of older legacy lenses via adapters on my Olympus micro 4/3rds bodies. . Either adapter would work for those lenses as long as the lenses being adapted are the same as what the adapter is adapting them from/to. I'm not sure if the older Pre-Ai Nikon mount lenses would work but I think they might. Don't worry about Ai vs AiS though, either will work. On the M42, any lens with the thread mount (42mm , not 39) will work so no worries there either...
