Is this ghosting normal on my Tamron 17-28 ?

Hi,
I bought this lens (Tamron 17-28 f2.8 Sony FE) a couple of months ago and I've noticed it sometimes shows some weird flare ghosting effects, and makes me worried.
This example was shot at f/22
Make: SONY
Model: ILCE-7
Lens: E 17-28mm F2.8-2.8
ISO: 50
Aperture: f/8.0
Shutter speed: 5 s
Captured: Sun, 26 Jul 2020 20:27pm
.
Tried everything can't get it off. Is this normal on the lens or should I send it back?

I'd bet you are using a filter and that is causing this ghosting. Try shooting the scene again without the filter if you are using one... I have that lens in Nikon mount and I've never had this issue.. I don't normally use filters either, especially in nighttime scenes with light sources in them...

And: what similarities are there in the scenes where you have this problem? Bright, glaring lights? Or...?

Hi Scott, thank you for your reply. No, I'm not using any filter. I had that problem before and it was indeed the filter, but not in this case.

Normally it's dark scenes with bright lights. I took the same photo 30 min before, and because the sky was brighter there is not any problem.
Sometimes when I'm shooting interior and the light from outside creates these artifacts too.
I took this photo at the beach, and the moon creates this lens flare I always found it weird.

I think it's a camera issue. I seem to recall the 7 had those issues with reflections bouncing around inside the camera. I don't think it's a lens issue but being a really wide lens may enhance the problem.
