Easy to use flash for Canon 5D II for beginner under $175

One other question for me today.  I want to get a flash, but don't want to spend more than $175.  This is my first flash, so if there is one that is easier to use than others that would be preferred.  My camera is a Canon 5D Mark II.

Thank you.

They're all easy to use. If you want the camera to think for you, you'll want one that supports TTL (through the lens).

I suggest Yongnuo or Godox speedlights. They start at a modest cost, and you can get a wireless transmitter for off-camera work, and stay within your budget.

Is it me or is GoDox really coming up.  I keep hearing about them all over.

Thank you, I'm going to look at those flash brands.  I found some YouTube video's on flash photography that have been helpful today.

So I was looking around, what do you think of this one: Godox V860II-C E-TTL HSS

It's only $4 more than my budget.

Godox is good value for the $$.  This is a good buy IMHO.

Canon 7D, 18-55mm, 55-250mm, 70-200mm L f/2.8, 100mm and 17-55mm f/2.8

I think it's a Cadillac when you might only need a Chevy. Yes, Godox is a new "thing" but for your first speedlight there are less expensive options that provide TTL.

As far as wireless goes, you're buying into a system, if that matters. It's important to understand that you'll really need to move that flash off-camera to use it well. Which means that you're not really done with just the initial unit.
