Dual Flash for Canon

2 years 8 months ago #663786 by FlPhotographer72
I have a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with a Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT and wanted to get a secondary flash for remote purposes. My set up would be one flash on the camera (or the camera bracket that I have), and the secondary flash would be more off to the side and close to the subject. Questions:

1. Can I get away with having a secondary flash as something much cheaper but still a Canon product (for better interfacing)?
2. If I have the primary flash (600EX-RT) on my camera, where would the transmitter attach?
   a. Leads to my last question of what all extra gear would I need to make this happen?

Get a second flash that is optically triggered. I.e., when it sees a flash, it fires. Easy peasy. Every speedlight that is capable of this will list it as a feature. Yongnuos, for example, do.

Distance, location, etc., all play into this.

Otherwise you need a wireless trigger system.
