Alien Bee lights not firing consistently

3 years 11 months ago #685545 by MarkNelson
Perhaps someone can help me with these Alien Bee lights I just picked up.  I have the B800 that came with a couple Cybersync receivers and one Commander.  I have the CyberCommander set up just like the instructions show.  The problem is the flashes don't fire on a consistent basis when going through the remote.  I can manually trigger these all day long and it does what it's supposed too.  It's just when the CyberCommander is used.  I have checked the batteries, they are good.

Have you had any similar issues where you found a solution you could share please?

thank you

One of the frequent problems with unit that don't have inboard
communication are the physical contacts… simply because they
can be touched. Just cleaning them with alcohol may solve that.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Are you using the commander as the trigger, or just a controller? If both, do you get the same behavior with both, or just one? Your question is a bit unclear.

I have a tx and 2 rx devices, (two DigiBees) and a commander. My transmitter (bought new) works reliably when on the camera. So I can't say I'm having a similar problem.

I would clean the contacts as a first step, as suggested.
