I've been processing files a few years old in some cases. Also wanted to spike a slow moving forum....

Now that's a cool shot

I always have tough time photographing butterflies and such.  They always fly away!

Nice capture Ernest. I should rework some of my older images since subjects are a bit scarce here in the winter .

Some aren't too skitty, but you need to be cautious about blocking the sunlight....
Thanks

I still have a couple years worth of images I haven't done a second cull on. This one above was much more colorful. Some of my uploads get muted, not all though. Monitor calibrated, and it doesn't occur on other sites.....:S

Thanks!

I've found I have the same problem with them taking off Danny, so I started going to the butterfly exhibits when ever I can! Cleveland Zoo has a great one and the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher has one every other year!! (they rotate with  Lorikeets )

I really have few issues with them flitting of. Not that they don't, but you need to study their habits. That said, I'm going to have to go to one of those butterfly exhibits and get some images of other exotics that I don't see around here. If you go to my Flickr albums, you will see all types & sizes of butterflies, from the size of mu thumbnail to Monarchs & also butterflies copulating.

Yeah, when they're active I usually set the camera close on a tripod and they fly off. I wait without moving and 99% of the time they return to the same flower shortly. Same with the silly birds...or some anyway.
