Fractured is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Dreher Island State Park in Prosperity, SC.  This is pine sap that was exposed due to a beaver gnawing on the tree.  The more colorful areas reminded me of rock candy.

Q- has the sap been frozen? is this a winter pic? ... I have never seen anything like this before

Hello Phil,
Nope, this was in the heat of the summer.  I think the pine sap dries out and cracks like that.  I found some very cool compositions on a couple of different trees that the beavers had chewed on.
