On The Inside

Now for something really different....  On The Inside is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at the Aiken County Historical Museum in Aiken, SC.  When I composed this, I decided to try a technique I had never previously considered.  I basically focused deep inside one of the Starburst Red daylilies.  I had to find one that would let me put the focal point that far down into it
which meant that it needed to be open in a way that I could.  Much
of the flower has been transformed into simple colors.

The colors are so vibrant and popping. Nicely done with the focus too.

I like this one. I don't know why you say you "basically  focused". Didn't you just focus? What is "basic" about your action?

Yes, you are correct as far as the focusing goes.  I was referring to the technique I used.  I had not previously considered focusing so far down into a flower and what, if any, difference that would make in the composition.  It is a technique I have used on several occasions now.  It's definitely good for producing abstracts.
