In terms of optical performance, there may be some differences, but they will be minor that most people would not be able to discern. The biggest differences will be in features. If you want to use the lenses for other than macro shooting then things like AF & vibration control may be more wanted (neither of those features are effective the closer you get to life-sized images). The biggest feature maybe resale value when one compares brand name lenses compared to 3rd party lenses
