Small image, but I can see the eagle and that's all that counts. Did the eagle catch a fish?

Eagles are a favorite subject of mine ... With my oldest son is now stationed at Bethesda I will be making trips to see him and will work in wildlife side trips in the region.

Bald eagles are also one of my favorite subjects. If I move slowly, I can get remarkably close. We have a young one near the cottage that does not show any fear. What a treat.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

We have hawks or eagles or whatever that fly around our building sometimes. I'd like to get some shots of them, but I need an even longer lens. LOL

Like this one ?

This is Canon’s 1200mm f/5.6L EF USM Autofocus Lens. Canon has been making them since 1993, on a special order only basis, and if you want one you’ll have to wait around a year and half for Canon to build it for you. Unless you’re quick, and head over to B&H, where you’ll find a second hand one for just $99,000.

According to the B&H blog, “there are ‘more than twelve, less than twenty’ of them in existence”. The lens weighs 36lbs. and measures just over a yard long. You won’t be taking any handheld candids with this thing.

Yeh the ol' 1200mm classic.

Thing is, doesn't work on my D3s too good. ;)
