Groundhog

I was visiting Francis Slocum state park, taking pictures like always. I was driving down the parking lot and saw a guy staring at something. I parked quickly, got out, grab my 70-300mm lens and sure enough there was a groundhog. I follow the fellow to his hideaway, which is where I took this shot. I was about 5ft away. The closest I ever been to a groundhog.

Wow, I agree never seen a groundhog that up close and personal. Did you pet it? Looks like you could have.

Very cool Cynthia. Looks like the groundhog was as curious about you as you were it. Or it was an experienced model and was posing!

Thanks, but my name is Crystal. :) I don't think he was an experienced model, because he kept going in and out of that water drain. He probably wanted to come out and eat more grass, but I was in his way. lol
