Forest Floor - Stour Wood (UK)

10 years 1 week ago #138862 by leezallen

OK - So here is the second ever picture shared on this Forum....

Autumn is my favourite time of year for photography, especially in woodland areas. This photo was taken while laying in a (almost) dry steam bed. I have had lots of feedback from people who either love the shallow depth of field or hate it! What do you think?

All feedback greatfully accepted.

Great POV. I'd go halfway. A little more DoF. :)

Interesting perspective, but it makes me feel sort of like I'm trying to look at something up close w/my eyeglasses for distance (maybe only people who wear bifocals can relate! LOL) - like it's too close and I want to step back a little. But really, it's a good balance of color and light, I like the way you captured the light.

This does make me want to see more of your photos.

On the fence on this one. More leaves and less green maybe?

I tend to agree with Matthew on the DOF. But, perhaps, it's really the piece of wood on the lower left that's disrtacting and throwing the composition off but drawing the eye off center. I would try to eliminate it, and see the result, with perhaps a touch less contrast on the branches in the far background, center left. Nice shot!

You got it, John. The perspective is a garden gnome.

And you know I hate garden gnomes!!!

The more I look at this photo the more I think it could do with a bit more DOF..... Might have to go and have another go!

Thanks for all the feedback!
