I'm sure this is why.

The temptation to shoot with these classic nikkor non-cpu primes is just too great for me. Once I learned to use the Sunny 16 method I was set, although I will pull out my old selenium light meter and check once in a while.

Since I still shoot with a D70, there is no option to enter the data for aperture and focal length with non-cpu lenses. All I care about is that it lets light through, lol. I guess that you can't get any more manual than that.

A body upgrade will fix all that hopefully next spring. :)

It is what it is.

Focal length was 0 too. I suspect this was shot with a pinhole. ;) Mine says the max aperture is 0 too. Maybe this was taken with a pre-CPU lens or something. Old manual focus lens?

I didn't shoot with a pinhole camera, but I did use the same method for metering...lol.

Yes, an old 85mm f2 Ai....and its a beauty too. Nikon has been making good glass for a long time! :P

yeh you must have gotten in that previous post before I made this point. So I was right! :D

Mmm MF is so sweet.

I still like this photo. It's memorable. Kind of shows too how you can get a great photo by knowing how to compose a shot and use color more than necessarily having the latest upgrade in equipment. (Although a good lens helps!)

Thank you Sharon!

While I don't recommend using non-cpu lenses to other people, I kinda have fun doing it. I think that having to slow down and plan a little more gives me more time to process the shot, I'm just a little bit slow....lol.

It is what it is.
