I'm sure BEFORE you took the indoor shot with the trains, you stood there a moment and pictured what the final image would look like. You then decided on the lens, framed it in camera, made adjustments, took readings, then snapped the shot.

You can do the same here. Use the "meditative" mind that Alan Watts teaches, or what chas's "crane on a rope" shows. See the image, anticipate the horses (where they will be), and have it framed in your mind (with the best choice of background and best settings ready) BEFORE you push the button.

It really is a Zen thing.
