I especially like the low point of view which helps give the viewer a fresh perspective. The strong, rich blue contrasts nicely with the warm rich golden color of the ornamental grass and the autumn leaves.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how this forum works. I see a great deal of 'casual chat' and informational videos, but not much discussion on the work of others. Am I missing something? I'm trying to follow 'Recent topics' but it's challenging to sort through the miscellaneous - and non-essential - stuff. And, when I try to go through the galleries and critiques I don't see a lot of activity.

Are there forum moderators? Active participants?

Ideed, there are. Photos aree usually posted in this thread, using the categories that place then in the appropriate galleries, to try and place them before the membership. But the sheer volume of every type of posting creates a quicksand that very rapidly swallows individual posts. A post comes back to page one whenever someone posts a reply to it. But, even though many look, few choose to comment, and even those too seldom include consideration of the image itself. The issue has been raised, but there seems to be no effective solution so far. People of good will, like you, perhaps can motivate others to actively participate and comment, and make photographic content a more prominent part of this thread. :) :thx2:

John - This image is outstanding ... both in it's simplicity and composition. Well done sir!

This is stunning. I agree the perspective helps make the picture, and the grasses almost have a sparkle to the texture. Beautifully done.

I've always liked the 'For General Display or Critique' section which might be less active than usual partly because of the holidays. Some people have posted and commented in the galleries instead of using the forum but I don't post there because of the social media access. Otherwise - what John said.

Thank you, Sharon. Even if you don't post (pity), you do make comments on the actual images, and I find that appropriate to this site, useful, and helpful
