Taking to wing....

These little guys spend the summer eating caterpillars and Japanese beetles from my fruit trees, as well as mosquitoes and flies. In return, I feed them all winter and keep many alive that might otherwise perish in the cold. They also allow me to photograph them. This is one of the culprits.....

Why so serious?

Not a typical bird shot...and I really, really like the wing motion you've shown while maintaining focus on the head. Way to go!

It is a delicate balancing act between fast shutter for sharpness in the head and slow shutter for the motion of the wings... You hit it squarely in the middle - well done Ernesto!

This is stunning. The way you captured the wingspan midflight is beautiful.
