Lightroom >> Adjustment Brush:
1. Plus Clarity on the blossoms in the center
2  Minus Clarity everywhere else

Why so serious?

Hmmm, not sure about that. It would increase the "presence" of the white background objects as well as the subject. What Bob suggested seemed to help

Have you considered painting on a high pass filter on just the in focus white flowers?

I think that would also work Jane. Good idea. I think that Bob's Clarity idea is just about the same, done differently. I'll try it as soon as I find the time.:)

Challenge accepted. But I will be so bold as to offer an example edit. If you object, please forgive me and let met know as I will immediately take the image out.

For me there's a lot going on. I would prefer to focus on just one bunch (spray?), and as such would like more space on the left. Since I don't have that....

Here's what I got taking the larger Flickr image and passing it through LR. I added some toning and lowered the exposure and shadows around and on the right. A touch of masked sharpening, and some tone curve tweaks.

I like the way you treated the subject. Nice!. The background not as much. A different image. I like it, especially the nice exposure gradation on the right.
Thanks for taking the time!
