Yellow-rumped Warbler

This is the first of the 24 species of locally nesting warblers to arrive in Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula, where I run my photography workshop on warblers and other songbirds:
paulrossibirds.wordpress.com/workshops/

I never did video of these birds until now.  The reason?  So people who are considering my workshop know what it is like.  I use my knowledge of all the birds' calls and songs, their habitat types, and the timing of their breeding cycles - to take advantage of the small window of time when males arrive to breeding territories and can be called into camera range.  I will post all 24 species eventually.  Each video will feature very cooperative birds that sit in one spot.  At this time the males have abundant food around - lots of insects, so they have excess energy.  They are constantly defending and fighting for territory, before they nest.  And predator birds, such as Merlins, are busy getting their nesting cycles going, so the warblers do not have to worry about surprise attacks.   I give advice on camera settings before the warbler is called in, based on knowing (by my personal inspection) each participant's camera and lens combination.
