Four variations

I love when shots like this happen.  I went down to the river looking for a shot.  It's a wild and natural place.  River, forest,  hardly any people. Always something.  Couldn't find it.  Moved on down the road, still nothing.  Then cruising Jasper road, where it's open fields, filbert orchards, and wild forest, at this one exact moment I turned my head to the right,  just in time to see this driveway road going straight off the main highway into the distance.  Going 45, I quickly checked my rearview, slowed down and pulled over, then made a U-turn !!  Here is what I saw.

I like the 3rd and the 4th shot.

I like the first image better than the cropped.  I'd take a bit off the bottom, eliminate the debris and crop where the exits the frame.  Maybe a bit darker ... or the saturation or a combo of darkening, rise the contrast (very slightly) and saturation.

There are photographs everywhere. It is the call of photographers to see and capture those images.

:agree:

… but my approach would be through tonal taming,
no contrast no saturation added… just me!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Yes.  I agree.  The direction of the road should parallel the direction of the crop.  That looks good stefan

totally, and I got rid of the signs on the trees and the fencing in the foreground. Not sure what camera you used for this, but its fairly low quality once you blow it up?

That could of course be the fact that I was editing a screengrab:)
