Adolescence

This little guy's probably fully grown now since I took this more than a couple weeks ago (they don't stay small for very long).

I'm also considering a slightly tighter crop like this:
Make: NIKON CORPORATION
Model: NIKON D3300
ISO: 400
Aperture: f/6.3
Shutter speed: 1/1250 sec

This year born Canada goose chick is not a teen until
next Spring!

Your second crop is better! :)

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Not a teen, but still old enough to hiss! :P

Sure… and they grow and learn fast.
Water birds need three years to reach maturity.

Yeah! Second shot is indeed better.

Nice! But I am not a fan of the angle.

The shadows in the eyes are too dark. Would have loved to see the facial features.

I agree. But really interesting!

I'm not sure it should be a black and white shot, because that just emphasises the light and shadows, and as others have pointed out, the shadows fall on what should be the main focal point. Obviously I'm saying all of this not knowing what the colour version is/would be like.

Yeah! I think the shadows are too dark. Some details are not well-emphasized.

I tried to bring up the shadows a bit.

Nice edit. The second shot has a better crop. Well done!
