It's a nice enough image and since it is impossible to get them to pose it works. The 50mm lens makes your choices different than with a zoom. With critters it is always "more acceptable" to get as low an angle (focal point) as possible. And I realize that is not always possible, especially with a snapping turtle.

Had the ground not been an absolute swamp mud mess I would have laid right down and tried a different angle. As it was I was covered from the waist down and lower arms with muddy water. He just happened into my yard so I figured what the heck. Thanks for the feedback.

One of those times a right-angle viewfinder would have been helpful.
