Recent Changes to How Things Operate

12 years 1 week ago #217617 by KenStephens
I am still getting used to the recent changes. I have two questions:

1. For some photos, I can see the camera information (shutter speed, etc.) and some I cannot. What is the explanation for that?

2. For some photos, I cannot leave a comment. Why?

Ken

1. Do you mean the EIXF data? Some people strip that info out.

2. Can you give an example please?

Don't pi$$ me off, I am running out of room to store the bodies...

Cameras embed that information into the images it takes. The website can access and display that information.

However that information can be destroyed intentionally, or unintentionally by using editing programs that dont retain the data.

I have not intentionally stripped out the EXIF data, but it might have been lost some way during editing.

Ken

PS I still don't know why I can see other people's pictures, but can't leave a comment.

You are 100% correct... thanks for helping out with the answer.

Regarding leaving comments Ken... right now permissions are set up so that you need to be that persons friend in order to leave comments on their photos. However we are changing that. Stay tuned buddy!

Much respect...

Alex
