New to PhotographyTalk, but not in Taking Pictures...

I started serious getting into digital photography about 12 years ago. My first true serious digital camera was the Nikon D80 camera and have been using that camera as the principal camera until this year. I consider myself an amatuer photography even though I have taken college course in Photography as a part of my Computer Graphics degree. I just bought the Nikon 1 J5 camera with a FT-1 adapter so I can use my old Nikon Lenses (I have a nice 300mm AF-S lens). I like the fact that it's small and packs quite a punch for the size of the camera, plus it was cheap. I love taking pictures of birds, specifically raptors (example Eagles, Hawks or any bird consider birds-of-prey) and hummingbirds (though where I live it's only the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird). I have taken 2 college course in Photoshop which means I know my way around Photoshop which comes in handy in the post process of Photography. I am just getting back into Photography after taking a couple year hiatus from it and I can't wait for warmer weather so I can lounge around outside in order to take pictures. Like I said I consider my still an amatuer when it comes photgraphy, but I think I'm getting better when it comes to composition.
