Noo-bee at Night Photography

4 years 7 months ago #658814 by phkc070408
I was on on vacation in a cabin overlooking the Pacific Ocean and I got a wonderful surprise - a full moon rose from over the mountain.

I quickly got my tripod, my Canon t5i with Tameron 28-270 zoom lens, and my shutter release button out.  I took many pictures with various Fstops and shutter speeds, but I used a low ISO continously.  Honestly, I felt like I didn't need to sacrifice any quality by going with a higher ISO becasue of the tripod and the ability to go with a very slow shutter speed.

The pictures I took with a faster shutter speed come out crisp, but are very grainy when I try to increase the exposure with Lightroom.  I kind of expected this.  I expected the ones that that I took with an extremely slow shutter (in excess of 10 seconds) to come out crystal clear as well.  Unfortunately, they are slightly fuzzy.

Being on the coast it was breezy, but nothing that I would expect to cause this much blur.  Also, I was the only one around and I tried to stand as still as possible.

Can anyone please comment on any of these and what I could have done different?  While I am somewhat proficcent at daylight photography, I'm definitely a novice at the night stuff.

Note:  the pictures with the A in the file names are unedited Jpegs created from the RAW.  The files with just numbers are Lightroom edits.
