This might be a TL;DR post for some; in advance, I apologize.

Hey all! I've never been into photography, nor do I really want to get INTO it, per say. I'm dying of congestive heart failure and ineligible for the heart transplant list. My doctors said I have anywhere from 6 months to a year and a half to live, so, I just sold my home (I close on 07/01), bought a new car and as soon as the closing is finished I am hitting the road for a cross-country road trip that will last at least 6-7 months.

Now, I can't get my heart rate up very much, so I won't be walking around a lot of places. Most shots would be taken from the vehicle or from me just stepping out of it and walking a little bit. I'm looking for a camera to deliver excellent results, without me having to know every feature and option and doodad it has. I've heard of point and shoot cameras. I tried one out last year and it gave me horrible image quality; super grainy.

Should I stick with my iPhone X (I'd rather have a dedicated camera just for the fun of it) or get a real camera? Any suggestions on one that might fit what I'm looking for? Price isn't really an object but I'm a practical person - I'm not going to pay $2000 for a camera that I have no intention to learn how to fully utilize, plus I know the good lenses run almost as much, if not more than the cameras themselves.

If you would be so kind, please leave your feedback below. I would greatly appreciate it! Any camera/lens combos you think would fit my needs for my cross-country road trip and my one last journey.
