G'day from Downunder

6 months 1 week ago #712043 by Grumpy John
Just popping in to introduce myself. My name is, obviously, John, and I'm not that grumpy. I have been shooting with a Canon 7D for about 10 years now and have just purchased a Panasonic DMC-FZ300 as a "walk around" option for when I go on my daily 4 - 5 kilometre (~3.5 mile) walk. My main interest on these walks is bird photography as there is a large lake and waterway near my home. I got a bit tired of carrying the 7D and Siggy 105-600, which weighs in at just over 3Kg (~6.5 lb) so the FZ300 was suggested to me by one of the members here, Phil (OZZIE_TRAVELLER).
I'm sure that I've come to the right place to get all the best tips for getting the best out of my new purchase.

Cheers

It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it

Handshake: Glad to meet you, and welcome to the forums.

So after so many years of doing this or that and life itself getting in my way, I am now at the point where just slowing down and doing things I have put off I have concluded that its time to become creative and do what I want.
Thanks for giving me a place to get started. :-)
