Intro/Question

I posted this in General Discussion, thought maybe it more appropriate here

Good evening.

I'm a relatively new photographer. I've joined this forum as a resource
for tips and tricks. I'm a recent retiree and am dabbling in Real Estate
Photography as a way to earn a few bucks and stay active.

I's shooting with a Canon EOS 90D. Today, I was doing a practice shoot
at an apartment a friend is the leasing agent. I was shooting AEB,
Aperture Priority,f7.1, spot metering. There were 3 or 4 shots where
nothing would happen when hitting the remote, no shutter release. The
focus point on the view finder (Live View) didn't change color (to green
or red). I messed around with the aperture, nothing seemed to work. I'd
go to the next room on the original settings and it worked fine. I was
also taking an extra shot after each AEB with the speedlite facing the
ceiling. In the instances where the shutter wouldn't release on AEB, it
wouldn't release on a single shot with flash either. Is this a simple
issue?
