Keeping track of number of shutter actuations on Nikon D80?

12 years 7 months ago #136342 by Happy Snapper
How can one keep track of how many shutter actuations a camera has fired off? Specifically my D80? I would like to know how many times my shutter has been fired.

Thanks for the help

Easy... take a shot with your camera, DO NOT alter it in any way, upload it just as it came out of the camera to www.myshuttercount.com Wihin a minute you will get the figure.

Thanks for the link. This would be very valuable if someone was buying a used camera...

Keep in mind that the shutter count spec for your camera is largely meaningless. It might fail at 20k or at 300k - you never really know. That said, if you're shooting an important job it's smart to always have a backup body just in case :)
