Retiring my D700 and just ordered a new D810

Happy to be part of the D810 club. My D700 was an incredible camera. Got a good deal on a D810 and it's time. My wife wants my D700, so we are keeping it in the family.

Nikon D700 | 14-24mm f/2.8G ED | 24-70mm f/2.8G ED | 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II | (2) SB-900

I bought my D800 a few years ago and kept the D700. I think KEH and Adorama offered around 475.00 for it, I said no thanks (after I stopped laughing). I still use it often, its much better hand held than the D800/D810 anyway, and I used it to photograph a wedding in June.
You will love the upgrade!!!

Congrats on the new camera. I've seen some fantastic images out of 700's though. They are still nice cameras.

From great to greater! Congrats on the new gear. Smart move keeping the old 700 around. I'm sure the wife will enjoy it immensely.

Nice that you are keeping it & that it will still get used. It's a win-win as all of the lenses that fit the D700 will fit the D810...

I'd take a used d700 in good condition for 475 in a heart beat.  That sensor is amazing for pushing shadows.
