I personally think the Z favors the outdoors where the smaller body could be a benefit on hikes, etc. The 850 is a better camera overall in more situations. If you need the best autofocus, the D850 would be the choice. If you're doing landscapes then the Z would be a good choice. It's just a matter of what a person is comfortable using.
