I want to buy the Z6 Filmmaker's kit BUT I live in Germany

Hello and first of all sorry for my bad english! :)

So I want to buy the Nikon Z6 Filmmaker's kit. Which is limited to the US and Canada only but I live in Germany.

The kit costs 3.550 Euro... So I looked up every single Item which is included (and what I need... so everything lol) and I noticed that I would end up paying 4.700 Euro.

This price difference for the same items made me think... Could I not simply fly to NYC (A shop with this kit is there) and buy it there and fly back? The flight would cost me (last minute) 400€.

Do I need to worry about tax etc.? I just turned 18 and really hyped to buy my first camera!

Would be cool to hear your thought regarding my Idea :P!

Greetings

Lukas

Do you realise you may ask someone to go against
international commerce regulations and get get in
trouble both of you?

Do you realise that, even if successful, you would ha-
ve nothing but a grey market eye from Nikon?

I'm going to suggest that no, he doesn't understand those issues.

To the OP: If you go out of country to buy something, you likely will need to declare it upon return and pay taxes and/or duty. You would need to research the law in Germany to understand the requirements.

If you buy a Nikon product from another country, you have what is referred to as a "gray market" product, and Nikon won't service/support it in your country. Any problems would involve returning the product to its original country. Not really a wise choice, especially if this is your first serious kit, and the fact that this is a new product.

Suggest: If you want to do film, buy a DSLR (the D750 is a bargain) that will produce the same results, allow for a wide selection of older lenses that can be had inexpensively, and doesn't rely upon new technology. Being an early adopter is not always a wise choice. Jonesing over new technology is not always a good thing.

Unless, of course, you know something I don't.

Die einzige Möglichkeit, mit dieser Idee absolut kein Problem zu haben,
ist, wenn Du nachweisen kannst, dass Du Deutschland damit im Ge-
päck verlassen hat!

Thought so!
