Nikon D7500 have focus peaking?

5 years 1 month ago #635446 by Ken Brun
I've heard good about focus peaking and have searched my camera high and low and don't find any focus peaking.  I went to Google and found that it's not available?

The D500 has it, why didn't Nikon put it into the D7500?

I'm kind of hoping by posting this that someone might know of a jail bird hack, firmware update, or something that will allow focus peaking on this camera.

Thanks for the help!

Ken

Nope. And unlikely to happen.

Nikon has been adding features of that type as it moves into its mirrorless systems. The D850 and D500 have added very nice things such as that (live view only, because otherwise you need an EVF), but Nikon rarely goes back to update features on existing systems. Does anyone ever hack Nikon FW?

I'll suggest you're out of luck.

Nope, only seen the hacks with Canon.  There's a website that focuses on hacks for Canon.  Don't know why I mentioned it as I can't recall it.  Google would likely show, but I'm too lazy to go and find.  LOL.  If you want focus peaking look at the D500.

"Does anyone ever hack Nikon FW?"  - Got me, that's why I was posting this.  Crossing fingers in hope of a favorable answer that I couldn't find on my Google searches.  Oh well, it was worth the shot.

Yeah, it looks like I'm up the creek with you know, no oar or motor.

Thanks anyway
