I found this loud kid funny the first times I saw him but now…

I don't fancy his thoughts on the Z future of the FF.

Take-aways:
  • Many (technology) companies make development announcements. This is not a surprise, nor unusual. Why does this bother him?
  • Wireless and GPS are not the same thing. And no one cares what you think about what's going in the top part of the camera. Quit making stuff up?
  • Some of us actually care about DLSRs.
  • It may be the last flagship DSLR for Nikon. So what? Don't compare with what may or may not happen in the future? We care about doing work today. Bird in the hand and all that.
  • Having used a 300mm f/2.8 lens, yeah, I'd buy that lens if I had the need.
  • Fro is still an ass. As bad as the Northrups.
Yet another almost content free video from this clown. And yet some will perceive it as amusing and useful.

Still not the body that'll get me off my current gear.

Why so serious?

Though my trusty D3S and D3X have fill my work  with much
success and pleasure, I think that the improvements would be
welcome — in terms of low light, backlit sensor, lower native
ISO — and the unescapable higher pixel count with the appro-
priate buffer — among others.

All the single digits have the body that gives me good vibes.

That was the whole point of Jared's whining: this is a statement of direction, no more. We'll get the camera when we get it.

Personally, I think Nikon is learning that being too secretive is not in their best interest.

Kind of feels a bit late for the D6?  Could Nikon be gauging the noise they hear to determine moving forward or not?

I wouldn't say a D6 was announced. They said they were developing it. That can mean just about anything from a whole new design to just sticking a different sensor in a D5. I don't consider them saying anything worthwhile.

I'd bet the sales for that, IF it comes out to market will be lower than normal for this level of camera.

I've read (though not checked) that these flagship cameras are usually released in time for the Olympics. So expect the new Sony A9 as well.
