Nikon D800 and Profoto D1 Strobes

4 years 5 months ago #662969 by mmcdowell
I'm using a Nikon D800 and 3 Phofoto D1s with a pocket wizard connected to my camera and one to my main light which then triggers the other two lights.  This was working fine up until about a week ago.  I went to shoot and the pocket wizards triggered the camera and the flashes.  The camera was in manual set at 250th of a second.  No matter what ISO or aperture settings I used the flash did not show up in my photo.  Though the strobes flashed no light was added.  It was as if one the camera or the flashes were firing late?  I'm not new to photography but I'm relatively new to strobes.  Can anyone give me advise on this.  Is there a setting in camera I'm not thinking about?  Thanks for your help on this.

I use Profoto units in my operations. I use mostly the
Profoto TTL remote trigger for them both in studio &
on location… a dream and trouble free combination.

I also use Pocket Wizard under given conditions only.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Thank you. Can you think of a scenario where the flash doesn't happen while the shutter is open. I'm thinking a camera or Strobe setting? It's really frustrating me. I just can't think of what is happening.

With the Profoto remote? No, won't happen.

With the Pocket Wizard I don't know cause I
don't use it like that.

Addendum

The D1 that will be triggered by the Pocket Wizard is
set on RECIEVER as the others are set on SLAVE!
