I think their announcement from a few weeks ago was a marketing thing.  I'd bet they knew it was still screwed up then, but didn't want to not come to market with hopeful news to hedge against what the other manufactures might have been posting.  

There must be something really messed up with this lens considering how long they keep pushing it off.  :toetap:

Maybe there's a big demand? They also ship from Asia and don't produce them like candy, there needs to be some serious QC, no?

Maybe QC issues? Possibly can't meet demand. The Z7 is doing well in sales I've read, and the 70-200 is a popular lens.
