Adapt Nikkor f/1.4 made for FF to APS-C

I have Nikon D3200 and recently I purchased a beautiful Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S Nikkor for a very low price. The quality is magical! I love these artistic photos I get now, but there is a downside - this lens is made for full frame and I get cropped image on my APS-C. Does anyone know if there is any filter I can add on top of it so that it would decrease the size of the image to fit on my tiny APS-C matrix? Thanks!

It would have to be a speedbooster adapter and I don't think the make one for that Nikon FF to Nikon APS-C situation. They run about 450 to 600 dollars so it's not really feasible in my mind. Just pretend you bought a 75 mm 1.4 lens for a good price. The one advantage is you will be using just the sweet spot of the lens and not the weaker outer edges.

I agree with shadowfixer.  If you are looking for the same results you would get using it on a FF camera then buy yourself something around 35mm.  The Nikkor 35's are outstanding.and available in a range of prices.

While your lens projects an image that would cover a 'Full Frame' sensor, it will still cover an APS-C size sensor, so no adapter is necessary. In addition, using it on an APS-C camera will automatically crop off the vignetting that you'd get with it mounted on a 'Full Frame' body'.

If what you want is a similar angle of view on your D3200 that the 50/1.4 would give on a 'Full Frame' body, there are no filters or adapters that will do that. What you can do is get a lens with a shorter focal length, something like 30mm to 40mm, you'll get a similar angle of view, but such a lens with an f/1.4 maximum aperture will cost a lot more than you paid for your 50/1.4.

The DX 35mm F1,8 is no slouch and with it you would get the wider AOV. I have the older 50mm F1.4 in both MF and AF versions. The 35mm is pretty comparable all told. and there is nothing that will change the AOV of the 50mm lens to a DX format.
