I would like to know your opinions of Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED V
for my D800e for nature/mountain/landscape use and how well it would work with my D7500?
IF but not IZ, it is a good middle of the range in everything.
Not a pro lens yet but with a constant aperture. Well dust and
moisture sealed.
The D800E is a darn good body that you could treat better
with a pro lens. I am not familiar enough with the DX format
to bring anything more than the usual FX to DX considerations.

Adam Gibbs uses this lens a lot. He has now switched to Fuji medium format for landscape stuff but he did just fine with the 24-120. Check him out on youtube.
Though I haven't used it myself but from reviews, I found that the lens is very sharp at all focal lengths. The lens is definitely in the Nikon professional lens class with the typically great build quality. It is a great lens when traveling light.
Reviews are favorable saying its very sharp overall w/ a bit of distortion at wide and telephoto, plus softness on the edges at the end of telephoto range.
