Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens

10 years 4 months ago #7516 by Erika
Hey all,
I recently purchased a 70-300mm Nikkor lens and Im itching to get another one. The main thing I have learned about photography when it comes to the equipment, is that its not about the body...its all about the lenses.
Im currently looking at a Nikon 50mm for a fairly decent price...anyone out there have one of these? All your suggestions and advice would be great!

It's one of the sharpest lenses Nikon makes.
Everyone should have one of these in their bags and the price is right.

Go for it.

I use that lens on my D200 and on my Olympus E520 with a lens adapter. I also use it for infrared digital photography. The Olympus E520 will allow infrared photography with the R72 filter.
See photo taken with the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens . The photo is not as sharp as it could be: 800 ISO, 1/30 sec, hand held! It was a first IR test with the E520.

I've used that lens on my Nikon D200 quite often, but, as I mentioned above I use it on an Olympus E520 with and adapter ring.

Below is probably a better example of the quality of that lens.

On the E520 there is a 2X effect so it's like shooting with a 100mm f/1.8 lens! I like that. :)
